MAGISTRATE’S COURT
ALLEGED THEFT OF JEWELLERY. The police cases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday were heard by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Robert H. Munro and Roderick Munro, who were arrested in New South Wales, end who reached Wellington on Sunday, were charged with obtaining J 2400 in money, and jewellery to the value of .£350 from Niniwai Heremnin by falsely representing that they had a company of entertainers who were about to visit Wellington. They were remanded to October 31, and bail was allowed each in one security of JISDO, or two of .£250. Alice Lomas, who was arrested in Melbourne on October 11 on a charge of having obtained .270 . by means of false pretences from Lazarus Wolf Balkind. was brought across to Wellington by tho Poloona, and was yesterday remanded to appear at Christchurch on October 2G. Charged with fraudulently omitting to account for the sum of A2OO received by him on terms requiring him to account for the same to Frederick Perrow, James H. Brass was remanded to appear at Invercargill on Saturday.
