JUVENILE OFFENDERS

q l MAGISTERIAL COMMENT ON LACK OF TRAINING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, October 22. Six boys of various ages came before the Juvenile Court to-day on charges involving dishonesty. On admitting them fo probation, Mr. McCarthy, S.M., said: “When ono conies to look at tho number of juvenile cases dealt with, though there are bound to be some in a city like Christchurch, ono is tempted to look for a cause. I really think the common, cause of tho trouble is lack of home training. Tho parents of these boys are respectable, but it does not seem to mo that boys and girls are properly trained to respect their parents and those in authority. What leads them to break the law in this nay is lack of proper control.”
