CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL MATCHES By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, October 29. The New Zealand golf tournament was continued on the Shirley Jinks to-day in dull weather. Tho second round of" tho amateur championship _ and the first round- of the professional match were played with the following results:— Amateur Championship. Bidwill beat Duncan, 1 up. Sime beat Colbec-k at the 21st hole. Wright beat Crosse at the 19th hole. Godley beat Branch, 3 and 2. Black beat Templar, 2. and 1. Goss heat Ranger, 2 up. MacFarlane lieat Wood, 5 and 4. M'Cormack TJffat Andersbn, 4 and 3. Professional .Match. E. .1. Moss (Auckland) beat A. Brooks (Hutt), i and 3. R. C. Butters (Christchurch) beat G. B. Forrest (Tirnaru), 5 and 4. .1. A. Clements (Napier) treat R. H. Blair (Auckland), 3 and 2. E. S. Douglas (Miramar), a bye. A four-ball Txigey handicap wag won by Horton and Taylor, 10 up. LADIES’ TOURNAMENT WELLINGTON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The ladies’ tournament, in connection with tho Wellington Golf Club (He retail nga) was concluded yesterday. The senior championship was won by 'Miss Brandon, and Iho junior by Mrs. Tolhurst.
The semi-final of tho senior chnmpionshi]|, resulted as follows:—Miss Bell beat Miss Gambrill; Miss Brandon boat Mrs. I/ces. In (he final, Miss Brandon beat Miss Bell, 3 up and 2 to play. Tn the junior championship final, Mrs. Tolhurst beat Miss West, 2 up and 1 to play. The captain’s prize was won by Miss Mantel], 3 down.
