WITHDRAWAL OF WAR BONUSES
AGREEMENT TN SHIPBUILDING AND ENGINEERING TRADES. (Rec. October 11, 5 5 p.m.) London, October 10. The men and the masters in tho shipbuilding trade held a conference at Edinburgh. Representatives of the men agreed to submit to a ballot the following offer regarding the* withdrawal of the war bonuses:—Nineteen per cent to lie the first reduction, one-third of which will operate on November 1, another third on December 1, and tho rest in the New Year.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. October 11, 8.5 p.m.) London, October 10. The workers in the shipbuilding and engineering trades havo accepted the employers' offer to reduce the munitions bonuses by three equal cuts in November, December, and January—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The employers previously proposed- to withdraw the bonus of 124 per for time workers and 74 per cent, for pieceworkers in four instalments, completing fho withdrawal on December 24, but the trade unions’ delegates rejected the proposal.]
