MAGISTRATE’S COURT
POLICE AND MAINTENANCE CASES The police cases in the Magistrates Court yesterday were heard‘ by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. George Few was fined 205., in default 48 hours’ imprisonment, for using obscene language, and for drunkenness he was fined 55., with the option of 48 hours’ imprisonment. Charles Grougcy, it was stated, went into a restaurant and used bod language, continuing io do so in spite of remonstrance. He was fined A 3 and costs 20’. A fine of 405., in default 48 hours imprisonment, was inflicted on Alexander Davidson, who was convicted of committing a grossly indecent act in Courtenay Place. For drunkenness he was os., with the option of 24 hours’ imprisonment. Richard A. Bvrne was fined 10s., with the option of 48 hours’ imprisonment, on being convicted of drunkenness for the second time. MAINTENANCE CASES. David Rossborough, whose arrears on a maintenance order in favour of his wife totalled .£lO7. was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as he pays 30s. per week. James H. Olney, whose arrears totalled ,£66 1-D.. was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as he nays £3 10s. per week. Arthur N. Williams was ordered to pav 255. per week off arrears amounting to AG 12s. 6d., in default one month’s imprisonment.
