MOTOR-CAR DASHES OVER BANK
NORTHERN FARMER KILLED. . By Telegraph—Press .association. Auckland, October 10. Albert Upton, a farmer of Waimai, was returning home from Ngaruawahia station on Saturday night with three friends in a motor-car. Near Glonmurray, at a dangerous bend in the road, the car lights suddenly failed, and the car went over a bank and landed forty feet below on ■ a rocky bottom. Upton was killed, Harry Hegh was badly cut about the face, and the others escaped with bruises. Upton was 48 years of age, and a eon of Mr. Upton, a director of the Bank of New Zealand. He leaves a widow and four children.
