DIFFICULTY - OF TENDERING FOR NEW VESSELS. London, October 9. The Admiralty is extending bv a week tho date of receiving the final tenders for the four new big battlewhips. The shipbuilders are anxious to secure tho contracts, but, owing to tho fluctuating costs of labour and material, it: is difficult to submit tenders. They urge that the Admiralty should pay a percentage profit on the ultimate cost of construc-tion.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
