SOVIET’S REPLY TO LORD CURZON’S NOTE VIOLATIONS ‘OF AGREEMENT DENIED ; By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, ( September 28. It is understood that the Soviet’s reply to Lord Curzon’s Note states that the Russian Government, though fully convinced that the accusations havei no foundation, is making fresh inquiries in order to refute in detail the statements on which Lord Curzon based his chrrges.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [A cable message published last week stated: “Since tho 'conclusion -of the Anglo-Russian trade agreement the Britfisli Government has loyalty kept its pledge to abstain fjjom offensive action agr inst the Russian Soviet Government. The Soviet, immediately after the signature of the agreement, started an intensified campaign of falsehood and hostility against Britain throughout Central Asia and Afghanistan. The Government possesses convincing proofs of such a campaign, and has resolved not to tolerate it. It has dispatched to Moscow a strong Note, calling attention to the serious breaches of faith, and demanding an explanation.” Another message said: "Lord Curzon has sent tho Russian Government a- strong Note, complaining of flagrant violations of the trade agreement between Sir Robert Horne and M, Krnssin, owing to the activities of the Third International, which is seeking to undermine British authority in India, Afghanistan, Persia, and Turkov. Lord. Curzon asks for a definite assurance that the Soviet will cease these activities.”].
