MAGISTRATE’S COURT
ALLEGED BREAKING AND ENTERING. ' The police business in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning was dealt kith by Mr.'J. S. Evans. S.M. Thomas A. Griffiths, 21 years of age, was' charged that on Saturday last he broke and entered by day the dwelling of Mr. J. S. Tennant, Central Terrace, (Kelburn, with intent to commit a crime. On the application of Chief Detective Ward he was remanded until Friday. Eugene M'Cormack was remanded to appear at Christchurch this morning on a charge of stealing a, 'blanket and a quilt, valued a‘t» 413, and ho was also charged with failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order made at Christchurch. F. S. Armitage was fined £3 for using obscene language. Michael Delaney, who was locked up' for drunkenness, broke a receptacle in the cell and used obscene language to the police officer who visited him there. For the latter offence ho was fined 43, for'drunkenness ho Was fined 10s., and for breaking the utensil he was fined a further ids., and ordered to make good the damage (12s. 6d.).‘ For using threatening behaviour in Courtenay Place, H. - .1, Ramsden w<-js fined 40s. For drunkenness, George J. Conroy was fined 20s. and George Harley 10s.
