THE STRANDED CARDINIA
NO HOPE OF SALVAGING SHIP. Suva,; September 24. The Government steamer Ranadi has returned from the wreck of the Cardinia. She reports that there is no hope of salvaging the ship, which has 15ft. ot water in tho hold. If tho weather continues calm, a portion of the cargo and gear may be salved from inside the reef in punts. Tho captain and his vnfe and daughter and tho crew refuse to leave the ship—Press Assn. .
