BANK OFFICERS’ GUILD

A well-attended smoko concert was held by the local members of tho New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild in tho Dominion Farmers’ Institute Hall on Wednesday evening. Tho chair was occupied by the president of the guild, Mr. A. Gordon Henderson. Among those present were tho chief executive officers of tho various banks and representatives from eight other guilds. The toast list was as follows "The King;” "The Heads,” proposed by —Mr. A. G. Henderson, responded to by Messrs. C. G. Ogilvie (Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., and acting-chairman of tho Associated Banks), and Mr. H. W. Lever (Bank of New South Wales); "Tho Guild,” proposed by Mr. A. Macintosh and responded to by Mr. 11. P. Mourant (general secretary. New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild); "Kindred Guilds,” proposed by Mr. H. J. King and responded to by Messrs. E. A. Batt, (president of tho Wholesale Soft Goods’ Employees’ Association) and E. E. Hammond (president of tho Insurance Officers' Guild and the Wellington Wholesale General Merchants’ Assistants’ Guild). Vocal and ’musical items were contributed by Messrs. D. C. Henderson, C. S. Nelson, 1,. J. Loftus, O'. F. Tanner, R, Tinney, M. Gilmour, S. Airth, J. O'Sullivan, and B. B. Bindon. Mr. E. A. Batt proved himself a capital entertainer and raconteur.
