ATTACKS UPON THE RAT. ’(The qutbreak of bubonic plague it Brisbane has drawn the attention of the authorities again to the rat. The New Zealand Minister of Health (Mr. C. J- Parr) has directed that special precautions against infected rats shall be taken at the ports, and he has advised the general public as well as the harbour boards and local authorities to increase their efforts to get rid cf rats, as they are the channel by which plague infection is conveyed.
