SPRINGBOKS’ OPINION OF NEW ZEALAND
A FLAT'J'ERJING TRIBUTE. Asked ,by a Dominion reporter yesterday about his general i impressions < f New 'Zealand, Mr. Bennett, manager of the South African footballers, made the following characteristic reply : —“I amno John Foster Fraser, but I can truthfully say that after travelling through New Zealand from one end to the other, the Springboks consider that the whole of the Dominion is equal to the best parts of South Africa. It is difficult to compare the two countries, but what I have stated has been the general observation of the team. W'e only wish we had a little of your water over our way.” Wliat, rain or power? "Both,” was the reply. "We could do with'them. . . We leave New Zealand particularly satisfied with' the treatment accorded us by the New Zealand'! Rugby ■ Union, and more than satisfied with the way the public have received us.”
