LIVE STOCK SALES
Messrs./ Levin and Co. report:—During the week we held a clearing sale at Kiwitea in conjunction with Murray. Roberts, and Co., on account of Mr D. 11. M’Lean. our annual hogget fair at’ Sandon, the usual Feilding ealo on Friday, and the annual horse sale on account of J M’Kelvie and Wilson Bros. There uas a fair attendance at M’Lean’s sale- Bidding was dull and tho stock neglected under the hammer. However, most of the hoggets were sold, after the sale. The horses were aged and in low condition and were not competed for. while a few of the implements only met with any competition. We had a very small entry at the Sandon hogget fair, moet of which ehanged hands. At Feilding on Friday we yarded a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Fat sheep sold well at prices hard on recent sales, while store wethers and ewes met with fair competition. There was a keen demand for all claeses of dairy Block and prices realised show a decided rise on late sales. Store cattle were as ut recent sales. At the annual horse sale on Saturday we sold 19 ou account of Mr. J. F M’Kelvie and 8 of Messrs. Wilson Bros. There was a good attendance and all the horses of any weight met with good competition, and prices realised were well up to expectation We quote:—At D. If. M’Lean’s sale: 456 wether hoggets (medium). Bs.; 103 m.s. small hoggets. 4s. 3d.; 30 fat and forward wethers 13s. 6(1.; draught marc (all work), £22; others, £5. £5 IGs.; child’s pony, £7; hay press and power, £4O; drill, £22; Storrie ridger. £4O Sandon hogget fair: Fajr m.s. hoggets. 95., 7s ; good Romney ewe hoggets, *l3s. At Feilding: Good fat wethers, 16s. lid.. 17s. 3d.; small good wethers. 155.; medium fat ewes. Us. 2d., 135.; fat ,m.s hoggets, 145.. 12s ; fat and forward ewes, Bs. 2d., 6s. 9d.; fat and forward rn.a. wethers, 9s. 7d.. Us. 3d., 13s. Id ; good ms. hoggets. lOs. 3d. • 3-year heifers nt drop, .£22 10s.; 3-year S.H.
