INVERCARGILL SENTENCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, August 30. The Supreme Court sessions have opened before Mr. Justice Sim. ' Walter Gilligan and Frederick Robinson, two escapees from tho BorStal Institution, were charged with breaking and entering. The former’s sentence w-as increased from three to five years, and the latter was ordered to serve an extra three years. ’ Willitlm David and Walter Barr Craig, for breaking and entering, were granted probation for three years. Cecil-Ackers, for stealing bicycles, was sentenced to eighteen months' hard labour. William ’Dallas Stevens, formerly a bank, teller, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing X3O, and was given probation ‘for three years. David 'Anderson, for false pretences, was sentenced to eighteen months’ hard labour; and Arthur 11. Greening, for false pretences, twelve months 1 hard labour. THEFT OF TOTALISATOR TICKETS. By Telegraph—Press Association! ■ Gisborne,'August 30. In the Supreme,Court, George Gritton, found guilty of theft of totalisator tickets, was remanded for sentence.
