Th» State Parliament was opened today with the usual ceremonial. Tho Governor’s speech said the country was passin through a period of economic adjustment, but there were indications that normal conditions, so far as Auttrafia was concerned, were being gradually regained. The Speech declared that Mr, Storey’s visit to London resulted in enhancing New South Wales’s financial stability there. The success of the Premier's mission would be apparent in the improved financial arrangements which the State would bo enabled to make. Tha new legislation foreshadowed includes endowment of motherhood, amendment of tho Lunacy Act, .he establishment of a Government insurance office, and amendment of the Early Closing ajjd Liquor Acts. Tho Speech also promised that economy would bo the keynote of the Administration. —Press Assn. A CENSURE MOTION. (Rec. August 31, 1.30 a.m.) Sydney, August 30. In tho Legislative Assembly Sir George Fuller secured an adjournment, intimating. his intention to movo a motion of censure on tho Government. The grounds are not disclosed. —Press Assn. LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS APPOINTED TEN SELECTED BY LABOUR.PARTY BALLOT. (Rec. August 30, 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, August 30. Tlie Governmont has appointed sixteen new members, from over two hundred aspirants, to the Legislative C< uncil, ten of whom were selected by an Australian Labour Party ballot, including the brother of the Premier, Mr. Storey, and a brother of Mr. M'Girr, Minister of Health, the 'remainder being well-known Labour men. The new members were sworn in and took their seats.- -Press Assn.
