REPORT ON PENALISATION. (Rec. August 25, 10 p.m.) London, August 25. The Imperial Shipping Committee has Issued an interim report which confirms the statement already cabled of, Lord Inchcape’s written undertaking' that shipowners forming the Australian and New Zealand Conference would not directly or Indirectly penalise or threaten to penalise shippers who did not give alb shipments to the conference_ lines. Tho committee reports that penalisation had undoubtedly occurred, but in view of Lord Inchcape’s repudiation of it the committee concludes it was duo to the unauthorised actions of subordinates.' The committee invited a disclaimer 'from tho conference which was readily granted. Tho committee intends to investigate fuii: re complaints of penalisation' with tho co-operation of tho con-ference.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
