A special Sinn Fein courier will be dispatched from Dublin on Thursday with the reply to Britain, which will reach Mr. Lloyd George on Friday morning — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. '■ GENERAL SMUTS’S PLAN ADVOCATED IN FEDERAL SENATE. Melbourne, August 25. Tho Senate, on a motion for adjournment, moved by Senator Lynch, discussed the situation in Ireland. Senator Lynch advocated the acceptance of General Smuts’s plan as the basis for settlement. Other speakers, including the Minister of Repatriation, supported Senator Lynch's views, and all expressed the hope that the negotiations now in progress would not prove a failure.—Press Assn. |
