N.Z. ACCOUNTANTS’ SOCIETY

TWELFTH ANNUAL MEETING.

The twelfth annual meeting of the New Zealand Society kjf Accountants was held last night in the Accountants’ Hall. There was a very large attendance of members. Mr. Walter Green, of Dunedin, presided. In moving the adoption of tho report of the council, the president spoke of the progress made by accountants in New Zealand, and the recognition that accountants were receiving the world over. He referred to the need for commercial education, and dealt with what was being done in. this respect in various countries. The motion was seconded by Mr. »3. W. Hutchison (Auckland)!, and after eome discussion, was carried. It was stated that in . the Otago district Mr. James G. Patterson had been elected to fill the vacancy caused by tho retirement from the council of Mr. James Blown, Mr. John W. Bowden (Ashburton) had been elected unopposed to the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. Irwin (South Canterbury). ’• He other retiring councillors were re-elected unopposed. Mr. James Kellow was reelected auditor.
