BRITISH NATIONALITY
H . ... . — REGISTRATION OF CHILDREN BORN ABROAD THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE SCHEME By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. London, August 19. The Imperial Conference resolution regarding the nationality of children is based on the following recommendation: —Tn all foreign countries, a child of British parentage who at present would not possess British nationality should acquire it as from birth upon tho registration of the child at a British Consulate within one year. Nationality so acquired should cease a year after the child attains his majority, unless in tho meanwhile he renews the registration. It is intended that the scheme shall be made retrospective, to include children of the second generation born abroad since January, 1915, with a view to obtaining uniformity throughout tho Empire. Tho principle will be submitted to the Dominion Parliaments as soon as possible. —Special to Press Assn.
