ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Tho weekly meeting of tho Wellington Football Association was held last evening at the Y.M.C.A. rooms. Present:— Messrs. W. Auld (chairman),. A. Williams (hon. fcecretary), P. Bonks, R. Hendry, H. Yeoman, W. Duncan, H. Liversage, C. Webster, H. L. Godber, A. E. Wells.
The Palmerston North Club asking tor a third division team from WelJiugton to visit Palmerston on Saturday next. It was found impossible to get a representative team by tho date mentionedj and August 27 was suggested as. a date for the match.
‘Auckland telegraphed accenting September 3 as the date for the Brown Shield match at tho Basin Reserve. It was decidoc', to replay the match Institute A v. South Wellington,, third division, as the appointed referee did not turn up ou Saturday. The committee agreed, however, that South Wellington should have accepted one of tbi-se other referees present.
The protest of Marist (Newtown) against Miramar Rangers was held over till next meeting. Wellington Tramways Club objected to the transfer of E. Waller to the Waterside Club, as there was a place in tho former team for tho player in question. It was decided to uphold the Tramways Club, and the transfer was not granted. A complaint was received from the Referees’ Association regarding postponement of fixtures, stating that on Saturday iast no notification of games being postponed was received till after mid* day. It was decided to refer the matter to the postponement committee.
