1 IMPORTANCE OF AN INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE. (Rec. August 10, 5.5 p.m.) Prague, August 9. The Esperanto Conference is attended by 2700 men and women delegates from ■ forty nationalities, including official representatives from Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Saxony, Ukraine, and Jugo-Slavia. Dr. Nitobe, the League of Nations representative, said that no international subject was more important than international language. The abolition of war was their chief objective. He anticipated a period when the peacemakers of all nations‘would find a common language. German Esperantists, particularly, warmly welcomed the Britishers, gathering at the stations and cheering them en route. ( A national costumes ball formed a most impressive and pic-, turesque scene. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
