Only’ a small entry of sheep came forward, but wo had a heavy yarding of cattle, the m:vfority of which wero dairy cows. Bidding throughout the sale was quiet, and the yarding proved a hard one to Quit. Quotations: Aped ewes, in lamb. 6s. 6d.; medium b.f lambs, Bs. Id.; guaranteed springing cows (good). £lO 10s. to £2O; late calvers. £5 to £8; forward store cows, £3 to £3 15b The New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. Palmerston North, report:—On Tuesday we held a sale of dairy cows on account of Mr. John Hill, of Rongotea. The cows, which were only a medium lot, sold fairly well. We quote: Best cows, £l7 to £2l 10s.; medium cows, £8 10s. to £l6; low-conditioned and late calvers, £4 to £7; store cows, 355. to £2 10s.; Jersey yearling heifers. £7 125.; half-draught mare, £26 10s.
