AIR SERVICE
TENDER ACCEPTED IN AUSTRALIA. (Rec. August 2, 9.30 p.m.j Melbourne, August £. A tender has been accepted for the .air service from Gera Id ton to Derby. It provides for the beginning of the service on or before October 3.-Press Assn. rgir Joseph Cook, Acting-Prime Minister announced in May last that tenders bad been invited from private aviation companies in Australia to supply an aerial mail service. It was later stated that tho service was to be between Geraldton, 290 mile.? north of Perth, and Derby, which is in the Kimberley district at the mouth of the Fitzroy River. The ’distance is 1193 miles, and is to be covered in six stages. The service is to be fortnightly, and all pilots and mechanics are required to join the Air Force, and thus provide a continuous patrol.]
