The position is stated to be that Auckland speculators have undertaken heavy commitments in the north, and must now come into the eouthem m-ar-ketvto buy so as to fulfil their contracts; but it is said* that they may experience difficulty in getting such needs supplied, because the offerings of oats just now are meagre, and if, ns is anticipated, a steamer is put on the berth to load oats for London the difficulty -will increase, since all the oats of desirable quality available for shipment will be snapped.—" Star.” More than 1000 persons sent in applicn.
