Heart disease is increasing rapidly in Great Britain, Sir George Newman, chief medical officer of the Ministry of Health, has shown that it has risen among school chiUdren during the past few years from 30 to 33 por 1000 in boys and 33 to 49 per 1090 in girlfl. ’Tho, children continue to have good health for many years, but break down under stress or work in later years. Thus the numbers d. crippled and inefficient are swelled.
