In Wellington, New Zealand, is an engineer, William Hall, who must bo wondering whether ho has missed death or a great adrenturo by not proceeding from Sydney on tho Canastota (says tho "Sydney Sun"). This statement was contained in a story related as to how "Big Bill" Hall, a Canastota engineer, came to miss the voyage from Sydney. When tho vessel reached Port Jackson tho engineer decided to proceed to his home In Wellington by a passenger steamer, nnd spend some days there until tho Canastota reached, port, where ho would again sign on. The Canastota still remains unsighted, although she left Sydney on June 18 for New Zealand. But "Big Bill" is all right.
