KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTORCAR

FATALITY IN THE CITY. A fatality occurred near the TramwayHotel in Adelaide Road on Saturday evening, involving the death of Airs. Rebecca Messenger. The deceased, who was 72 years of age, was crossing the street, when she was knocked down by a motor-car. Asistance. was at once rendered, but the old lady had suffered very severe injuries, 0- wheel of the motor-ear having apparently passed over her head. Airs. Alessenger was quickly taken to the hospital, but she died on the way thither. Tho deceased lived at tho residence of Mr. R. A. Bond, 93 Adelaide Road. The police declined to disclose to The Dominion’ any details of the accident, although searching inquiries were made.
