POULTRYMEN CONFER

The annual conference of the affiliated Kicietles of the New Zealand Championship Association was held test week-end, tho acting-P'residcnt (Mr E. Gallichan) being in the chair. In welcoming the delegates, Air. Gnllichan said that the coming year promised to be a most successful one.

There were boh in complnintß in regard to tho non-delivery of certificates won nt last year’s shows, but Mr. Gollichati gnve an assurance that they would be distributed at the earliest possible date. Among the remits carried were, the following:—’'That the championship groups bo arranged so that each group will include poultry, bantams, pigeons, nnd canaries, and that tlie groups, os Allocated be numbered and rotate in 10gulnr cycles: that all feathered varieties showing a total collective entry of twenty at the various shows be given a. championship; that the list of judges bo revised; that in t'ho opinion of the conference the time has arrived for tho Championship Association to run its own art union; that at ail shows held, by affll. fated societies the Old English Game nnd O.E. game bantam classes be judged nocording to tho standards of the O.E. Game Fowl Club; that classes shall bo included in tho schedule for wheaten or clay hens and pullets, and for blue and blue reds; that societies holding a twodays’ show be charged .£■'> 10s. end a three days’ show .I’7 10s. The question of deleting certain canary olosses was referred to the Wellington Cage Hird Club, whilst tho O.E. Game Club is to be asked to draw up a classification, of the O.E. game. The meeting carried a motion expressing sympathy with tho secretary, Mr. Guthrie, in his continued illness.
