DIOCESAN SYNOD

The Wellington Diocesan Synod yesterday continued its sessions, under the presidency of Bishop Sprott. Archdeacon Watson’s Bill, providing for tho establishment of a diocesan social service board to co-ordinate social work In tho diocese was passed with amendments. after a fairly lengthy debate. Tho following board was set up: Revs. W. J. Hands, and H, A. Walker, and Messrs. R. C. Kinvig, G. H. Seville, and A. H. Haylock. Tho following motion, proposed by Archdeacon Watson, was carried: "The Synod recommends that the first week in I-ont bo observed, tnroughout the dioceso as a self-denial week, with, if possible, a house-to-house collection for the work of the Social Service Board, and that tho offertories on Good Friday be also devoted to tho work of the board."
