The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Palmerston North report:—On Monday we held our fortnightly sale at Rangiotu, when a fair yardin" of cattle came forward. There was only a small attendance of buyers, but wo quitted the bulk of the yarding at the following rates:—Fair dairy cows. £8 to £8 155.: three-quarter aqd aged dairy cows, £3 10s. to £5 15s ; fat heifers, £4 10s.; good store cows, £2 to £2 17a.; weaner steers, The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association Ltd,, Pahiatua, report on their weekly sale, held in the Mangahao yards on Tuesday, as follows:—We had a small yarding of sheep and a fairly heavy varding of. cattle, principally dairy sorts. Bidding for sheep was not spirited, and we passed in several lines of lambs and one line of ewes in lamb to Romney rams. z Dairy cattle were in good demand, and' we were successful in disposing of practically the whole of our entry of dairy stock, about 40 head, under the hammer. A considerable portion of the entry of dairy stock was in poor condition, and prices obtained were, we consider, more than satisfactory. We quote the following sales:—63 ewes in lamb, Bs. 9d. to 16s. ld. : 3 2-tooth do.. 19s. 7d.; 6 wethers. 15s. 5d.; 30 2-tooth do.. 14s. 6d.; 7 cull lambs, 55.; 5 weaner heifers, 10s.; 3 do., £1; 8 do., 10s.; 4 weaner steers, 10s. to £1 10s ; dairy cows, from £3 6s. to £l3 10s.; 2 store cows, 155.; 8 heifers. £3 10s. to £7 15s.
