ENEMY SHAREHOLDERS
BAR-TO AMERICAN ENTERPRISES IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, July 6. Mr. Norton, the American Consul, epeaking at a Millions Club dinner, stated that American firms were eager to start enterprises in Australia, but were prevented by the XX’ar Precautions Act, which debarred business by firms with natives of former enemy countries on their share rolls. Representations had been made to the Commonwealth. Senator Pratton interposed that he had board the representations were likely to be successful.—Press Assn.
