SUDDEN DEATHS
+ TWO INQUESTS HELD. An inquest was held yesterday morning by Hr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., into the cause of death of Leizetto Constance Keating, at her residence, 19 Douglas Street, on Friday night, after a short illness. Gerald Keating, husband of the deceased, said that she was 26 years of ege, and they had been married four years. She had not enjoyed-good health, and had suffered from an abscess in the head. On Friday evening she complained of being in severe pain, and wont to lie down, and in a few minutes became unconscious. Dr. Duggle, who was called in, said that when he got to the house he saw that the woman was dying, and could not be removed to the hospital. He was satisfied that death was due to ulcerated endocarditis, and the coroner found accordingly. Mr. Hunt also held an inquest yesterday into the cause of death of Hugh Reid Simm, 42 years of ago, who died suddenly in the street at the Bunk of New Zealand corner on Friday afternoon. The deceased, who was employed by John Chambers and Son Ltd., was severely wounded in France. During the past few weeks he had complained about his health. Oscar Milton Johnston. building contractor, said that on the Friday afternoon he was accompanying Simm, who looked ill, and complained of a pain in the chest. Witness took him to an hotel, where he had two whiskies, and then left witness to go home. Simm was not a man who drank liquor. Dr. C. M. Hector, who made a post-mortem examination, expressed the opinion that death was due to acute alcoholic poisoning, and that an excessive single dose would account for the condition in which he found some of the internal organs. The coroner’s finding was in accordance with the medical evidence. ■
