WINTRY CONDITIONS

After a tow days of summer warmth and brightness, Wellington was plunged suddenly into mid-winter conditions at an early hour yesterday morning. A biting southerly came roaring up. bringing with it rain and sleet. In the south there were heavy falls of snow on the high levels! These raw conditions, with intermittent showers, continued throughout tho day. A heavy sea was running at tho Heads.
