FUNERAL OF MR. ARTHUR PEARCE
Few private citizens were so widely esteemed as the late Mr. A E. Pearce managing director of the firm of Messrs. Lovin and Co.,uid h funeral was attended by a very larg and representative body of mourners from all parts of the city and district. There must have been over 500 people at the funeral service conducted in St. Pro-Cathedral yesterday a ?T the greater number of these attended at the graveside. . The service, which was a pressive one, was conducted by the Kight Rev Dr. Sprott, Bishop of Wellington, and’the Ven. Archdeacon Johnston. The chief mourners were the deceased s brothers, Messrs. G. F. C. and W. b. Pearce. Among those present were. Messrs. Lovin and Co.'s staff, the Ac mgPrime Minister (Sir Francis Bell), and Lady Bell, Sir John Luke, Atessrs. J. C. Crawford, lan Duncan, F. Hodson, VF B dwill C. Holmes, 11. Beauchamp, 6. i’Surst, B. A. de B. Branside.. M.P, Ur. W. E. Collins, and Mrs. and don Mir. R- Parker presided at the organ A large number of beautiful floral were received. The interment at Karori cemetery was conducted private, the Bishop and Archdeacon Johnston officiating at. the graveside.
