CIVIC ESTIMATES

OVER A QUARTER OF A MILLION RIGID ECONOMY TO BE PRACTISED It is understood that the City Council estimates on the expenditure side for the current financial year amount to about •£260,000. It is not anticipated that any material reductions will bo made, though it is certain that the present rates on the new capital value of the city will return a sum equal to the amount required by the estimated expenditure, plus the grant for the Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard.
