WORKING EXPENSES FOR MAY DECREASE. For the first time for a few years it is gratifying to record in connection with the municipal tramways undertaking that the working expenses for May showed a decrease of .£3OBB compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. This does not mean that working expenses have ceased to show increases on last year’s figures for the increase under that heading for the eight weeks ended May 26 totalled 4:3765, as against an increase in revenue of 4112.861 for the same comparative period. Tho figures for the four weeks ended May 2G are as follow:—
