EXTENDING OPERATIONS TO NEW ZEALAND. Among the passengers from the Niagara in quarantine is Mr. Kelso King, general manager of the Mercantile Mutual insurance Company, Ltd., who has roturrfed from a tour of New Zealand In which he combined business with pleasure, says the “Sydney Morning Herald." It is the intention of the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Company, Mr. Kelso King said, to extend its operations throughout the Dominion. As a. result of a preliminary survey he had found the prospects excellent, and without doubt tho company would open up largely over Mr. Kelso King expressed th* view that New Zealand had a fine future. With the exception of a small part ot the North Island, <Hx>ughts, he said, were not experienced—there were periods ot dryness, but nothing like the droughts in Australia handicapped the produce!s of the Dominion. The people, too, appealed to Mr. Kelso King, who described them as very fine. There was abundant evidence of progress m nearly all of the cities. Tourists were splendidly catered for, and the sport and scenery were indescribable.
