Riots were resumed in Belfast on Sunday night, when opposing crowds of loyalists and Sinn Feiners stoned each other in the neighbourhood of York Street. Constable Sturdy and three civilians were shot dead, and about fifty peiople were treated in the hospitals. The week-end rioting in Belfast was the worst the city has experienced. Mystery surrounds the execution of three civilians. Armed parties who travelled in motor-cars dragged the men from their beds and shot them near their homes. They carried the bodies to lonely fields outside-the city.
