BOXING
Monday evening’s boxing tournament is expected to provide an evening’s sport: well up to the standard set in contests previously promoted by the local association. The principal contest will be. between Gleeson and Murray. Murray, jylio has been completing hin training here, is stated to be in excellent fettle, and the same is said of Gleeson. The latter is a boxer pure ami simple, fast, clever and evasive, his work each day having called forth very favourable comments from onlookers. On the other hand. Murray is n boxer of the rugged style, who fli'hts all the time, and the Australian will, it is contended, need nil his cleverness to avoid his attentions. The preliminaries aro Desmond v. Milcliell (Otago), M‘Gregor v. Tynane, David v. Milne. A continued brisk booking throughout yesterday is reported by- the association.
