JAPANESE IN SIBERIA
EXPEDITION THROUGH MARITIME PROVINCE RUSSIA OFFICIALLY INFORMED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright New York, May 31. The “Chicago Tribune’s” correspondent at Peking states that General Kuniura, Chief of Staff of the Japanese forces at Vladivostok, has officially informed M. I’opoff. Chairman of the Russo-Japanese Conciliatory Committee, that within a month Japanese troops will make an expedition through the various regions of the Maritime Province, from Kokolak Czarck to Camon, also along the western bank of the Nanka Lake, and both sides of the Ussuri railway 'between Svianchio and Izan. The Russian reply states that such an expedition would violate the RussoJapanese understanding.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
