The Ali brothers have issued an apology for making speeches inciting to violence. and have promised to refrain in future. A Government communique states that their arrest had been contemplated, but this was unnecessary after the assurances revived. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. < [Mahomed Ali and Raza Ali are prominent non-co-operntionists. The latter recently asked Gandhi to stop the move-, inent temporarily, and give the new Viceroy (Lord Rending) a, chance, ami later gave notice of a resolution which he proposed to move at the next meeting of the Council of State: "That a conference attended by a member of the Government, and representatives of all schools of political thought, including the leaders of the non-co-qperatian movement. should be convened nt an early date, under the presidency of the Vicerov, with a view- vc* free discussion on political questions: and that no resolutions be adopted by the conference and no minutes kept.]
