TO BEAUTIFY PETONE

A PROGRESSIVE MOVE. At a well-attended meeting of Peton® ladies interested in cricket and kindred sports, held yesterday afternoon, it was decided to hold at a future date a big jumble sale, the entire proceeds from which will be devoted to the improvement of the local recreation ground. “It’s a step in the right direction to improve tho towp, without any cost to tho borough,” stated a prominent resident to a Dominion reporter, in the course lof '& Subsequent conversation. “It is to be hoped that others will follow the lead, and make an attempt to improve our foreshore. It will be a great lift to the town, and will assist us in our endeavours to beautify it.”
