Briand, the Premier, made in the Chamber of Deputies, that if fhe Allies were unable to support Trance militarily she could act c-n her own, that is. without the Allies, but not against fKcin.__ The “Temps’ says: “We hope Mr. Lloyd George will take the first opportunity for declaring that the British Government adheres to these principles.” The Chamber of Deputies, by 432 votes to 166, carried a vole of confidence in the Premier. —Aus.-N.Z.
