ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
The weekly meeting of the ’Management Committee of the Wel.’ifiyten Fontball Association was held last evening at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms. Present: Messrs. W Auld (chairman), W. Duncan. P. Banks, L. White. R. Hendry. C. Webster, A. E. Wells, H. L. Godlwr, H. Liversage, H. Yeoman, and A. Williams, hon. secretary. It was agreed te play tho chamnionship match. Thistle v. Waterside Workers Athletic Club, on Juno 3, at tho Basin Reserve, in aid of tho Prince of Wales Park Fund. This fixture is to be brought forward from July 9 so that Thistle and Waterside Athletic have a bve on June 4. - It was decided to thank the Waterside Band for their kind offer to play on the Basin Reserve on June 3. It was decided to send a second division team te Palmerston North on Juno 3, the Wellington team to be selected on Saturday next. The team selected will leave and return tho same day. The protest of the Swifts fifth class in their match on Saturday last v. Karori, was dismissed, as the protest was not in order. Further complaintA from the Swifts senior club re inferior refereeing were referred to the Referees’ Association. It was decided to grant a transfer from Thistle second division to Waterside Athletic second division of A. Bell, of the former club.
The Wellington Rugby Union wrote stating that they were quite willing to carry out the reciprocal agreement regarding suspension of players as in past seasons.
The Nelson United Club wrote asking for particulars re rule books, referee charts, etc. It was decided to forward the letter to the New Zealand Council. / The transfer of T. Davies from the .Swifts Club to the Waterside Athletic Club senior division was granted.
It was decided.to slant the match at the Basin Reserve on Juno 3 at 2.39 p.m. sharp. The referee is to bo appointed by tho Referees’ Association on Monday next.
It was decided to ask all teams to send their results to the local papers as soon as possible after tho games on Saturday. . , A White Star liner asked for a match on Saturday next, but owing to all grounds being engaged, it was found impossible to grant their request.
