Giving evidence before the Coinmission which is inquiring into cargo pillaging, Detective-Inspector Denelin said that he was satisfied that robbery was carried on to a serious extent. He had many times seen cases of supposed cargo which, when opened, contained bricks or ashes. He had seen in tho holds of vessels, most of which came from Wellington, evidence of pillaging prior to arrival. — Press Assn.
