JAPANESE CONFERENCE
RIGHTS IN SHANTUNG.
Vancouver, May 18.
The United Press Agency at Tokio understands that the conference of Japanese Asiatic representatives favoured the withdrawal of Japanese troops from Vladivostok, but not from Amur or Saghalien. The newspaper “Asahi" learns that the conference favours the return to China of such Shantung rights as can be returned without reference to the other nations. It is also understood that Japan is agreeable to make Tsingtao an open port.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
