CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION
ELECTRICIAN AWARDED J3BO AND
COSTS.
Tho Arbitration Court yesterday delivered judgment upon the claim for compensation brought by John Carlinc Little, electrician, of Wellington, against tho City Corporation, afteg the plaintiff had sustained mi electric shock in the course of his employment at. the powerhouse, and had, as he alleged, been disabled by it. The Court decided that the injury suffered by the plaintiff had produced in him a condition that resembled shell-shock rather than ordinary traumatic neurasthenia. There was a conflict of medical testimony as to whether the settlement of the action would have the effect of bringing about a speedy restoration of tho jilaintiff’s health. It was clear, however, that ho would not be able to resume his ordinary occupation for a considerable period.
The Court gave judgment for the sum of .£BO, and allowed the plaintiff xCIO 10s. costs, with witnesses’ expenses and disbursements.
