CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
On Saturday afternoon the Brooklyn Harriers will hold a three mile race’at Seatoun, and in view of the fact -that this is the first open club race of the season tho event promises special attraction. It is generally anticipated that R. Bell, tho club’s best distance runner in the past, will annex first honours, but ho will have to extend, himself to the limit of his capabilities. Amongst the older runners who are expected to be well up are D. Todd, W. Burk, N. Smollie, end 0. Dentice, all four being very much on a -par as regards distance running. Two now members who show great promiso are A. Barclay and J. C. Futter. The team to represent the club tin the Edmond Cup raco nt Dunedin on Juno 11 will be selected chiefly on the result of to-morrow’s contest.
