CONFERENCE IN MELBOURNE.

Melbourne, May 11. At the conference of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union the question of the possible dangers of the use of fermented wine for sacramental purposes was raised. Archdeacon Hindley deprecated discussion as it might cause a division among the friends of temperance. One declared that the general experience of clergymen in all parts of the world was that the danger from the use of fermented wine at Communion was purely imaginary.—Press Assn.
